Virtual Essay

The photographer that I decided to do my report on is Roy Caratozzolo.  Roy Caratozzolo is a free lance photographer from New York.  I chose him because he displays many varieties photographs like sports, street, animals, landscape, people and objects. I decided to takes pictures similar to his because I enjoy looking everywhere and clicking pictures I like and  I use to try  find out something  interesting around me . On the other hand I try to find out attractiveness in things which are not actually and I think Roy Caratozzolo takes exactly what I do. In his pictures I felt that he also tries to find out beauty everywhere. I took some pictures too in his styles.

The first picture that I took was of my dad sitting in car near my home and I took this picture when the car stopped at red light. I wanted to imprison a moment of concentration. In this picture at first glance you just see why my dad seeing something outside the window on the left side. But on a second look you see there someone is sitting in front of him. This picture was taken on red light. I decided to put some contrast in the picture because it made him look more attractive in black suit on the other hand I found he was holding a wallet in his hand which makes out a question saying that is he was trying to give something to the beggar or just holding like that? Caratozzolo takes street photography that always has an element of question or an element that makes it out of the normal.

The next picture is the view which I captured outside my home balcony. In this picture I did not do any photo manipulation. I found this picture natural and interesting because when I was clicking it I was actually looking for CN Tower which I daily see from my balcony but this evening I did not see it so I thought of taking a picture and then finding the CN Tower. On the other hand Roy Caratozzolo image is also same as like mine I selected this image because I found both have same natural view.

This photo I took in Niagara Falls, of a garbage sign. I decided to take this photo in the style of some of Caratozzolo’s photos he took of wording on the side of a cab. I thought that this sign was attractive because of its message. I found this picture interesting because it was giving a message to people around it that do not litter everywhere. There is a double meaning to the term “Pitch in” the first being a literal common sense to put garbage where it belongs and the second to “Pitch In” and save the globe by not littering. This picture I liked the most because without any message it is actually giving so clearly.
